Auditions for Miracle on 34th Street

           IMG 3191

Halifax County Little Theatre is in search of Mr. Kris Kringle himself! If you or someone you know has found him, please send him to the Prizery in South Boston on Tuesday or Wednesday, September 5 and 6, at 6:30 pm.  Little Theatre has chosen “The Miracle on 34th Street, the Play” as their opening show for their 62nd season.

Based on the popular movie by the same name, “Miracle on 34th Street” has become an American classic about ‘believing.’ It is the story of one child’s journey to believe in the spirit of Christmas, in Santa Claus. Can the Macy’s Department Store Santa prove he IS genuinely Santa? From the Macy’s Parade to the American courthouse, Mr. Kringle is constantly battling to prove his authenticity.

HCLT needs lots of actors and actresses, from age 7 through adults of all ages. In addition to Kris Kringle, HCLT needs an adorable young girl (7-9), some jolly young elves, a feisty Macy’s store manager, a judge, a psychiatrist, lawyers, shoppers, the girl’s mother and an interested suitor, and just loads of everyday New York citizens.

Little Theatre wants this to be a community show, so encourage others you know would be good on stage and bring yourself as well to audition for a role or maybe to volunteer to assist with the production in other ways.

Dig out your Christmas spirit and come on out to the Prizery, 700 Bruce Street in South Boston, and give it a try.  Director Kasey Renae Moore is hoping for a large turnout to create the perfect show.  While there are children involved in the show, most of the primary roles are for ages 20 – 80.
