Halifax County Little Theatre is ready to spring into our 2024 season!
We are thrilled to announce our lineup for the upcoming theater season. Three different events in three different spaces!

2 Across Comedy

2 Across, by Jerry Mayer

Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8Factory Street Brewing Company

We’ll be partnering with Factory Street Brewing Company to open our season with a fun-filled night of music, comedy, dinner, and a play! 2 Across, by Jerry Mayer, is a one-act comedy where two strangers meet on an early morning commuter train, each with The New York Times crosswords firmly in hand. This heart-warming story shows that opposites do indeed attract as an organized, sensible, uptight but lovely rule follower collides with a free spirited, unemployed, laid back rebel. Directed by Sandy Slayton, this show will be the perfect ending to a great night out. Who knew “crosswords could be a metaphor for life”.

Beautiful the Musical

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

Friday, November 1 through Sunday, November 17The Prizery

1971 brought the release of Tapestry and The Earth Moved Under Our Feet! Tapestry was named the 25th greatest album by Rolling Stone Magazine. Now, Halifax County Little Theater is excited to be back on The Prizery Stage presenting Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. This Tony Award-winning musical is based on the life of singer-songwriter Carole King. Her story opens and closes at New York’s Carnegie Hall in the wake of the phenomenally successful Tapestry album and traces her journey into the spotlight as a solo artist. The focus is on her songwriting partnership with her first husband, Gerry Goffin, and partners Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann. Victoria Thomasson directs the show which will feature 11 musicians delivering nonstop energy live on stage. The hits King created for The Drifters, The Shirelles, The Righteous Brothers, Little Eva, The Chiffons, and even The Monkees, along with favorites from the Tapestry album, are all showcased as rock music evolved through the 1960s and 70s. It’s a show not to miss, running from November 1 through November 17.
